Special order..
I have to say that I am very privileged to have so many special orders, it is quite an honour and an incredible amount of trust when someone asks you to make invitations for their special occasion. Here is one order that I have just completed for a 30th Birthday, its glitz and glamour all the way and the cardstock is a combination of Payper box and SU designer cardstock, black wired ribbon, crystal ribbon buckle, black glitter cardstock and gems. The inserts are a heavy weight silver paper, printed with all the party details on them. These are very luxurious, just like the venue and the lady only deserves the best! x

Jake's 1st Easter..
I couldn't let it pass without mentioning my adorable Grandson, could I? It was his first Easter and usually our family have an Easter egg hunt with a difference. It's usually full on and quite unusual and each year had got more intense and clever, the family are very competetive(and sometimes cheat, you know who you are!) It usually involves, a car and a set of clues. The clues have varied from places of family history, once they solve that clue they go to the next destination and solve the next and so on. Or, it has been find 23 things that are Easter related from anywhere you like, you can beg, not steal and ask to borrow, using a camera for evidence. To solving puzzles in local destinations and taste testing 23 types of chocolate to identify what brand and flavour they are, how sick of chocolate were we after that one. And so the Easters go on... This year I am fortunate to have my grandson over and the rest of my family and as it was Jake's first Easter, I wanted to make it easy. I was hoping for a lot of lovely photo's of Jake "finding" the eggs so that I could scrap them at a later date. I had not quite planned on my Mother gathering them all up in her Easter basket leaving very few for my Grandson, my Mum on the other hand was very proud of herself for doing so well. I had to smile. Still, Jake was very pleased with his findings of the Kinder eggs which he took great delight rolling round the lounge floor, it provided hours of entertainment for him with no chocolate eaten! By the way, Yes, he is wearing a lamb's outfit bought by his Auntie Suze. Happy Easter. xx

Hardcore!
You might think that I have "lost the plot" but its that time of year again when I need to design a card for my good friend Al. He loves saucy but this time I think I have probably gone too far? This card is very "hardcore" and not for the faint hearted. Last year you may remember that I made him a bouncy bottom in lacy pants and suspenders, this time I thought that I would do the top half, still in the same colourways though. I initially made a sketch and then a template to see if it would work out, as I had tried in the past and it just didn't look right, that is until now. I knew that I wanted this woman to have big "breasticles" and that she was going to have a studded bra, then came the tattoo's and finally she had to have a piercing! The main body is made from pink Bazzill cardstock which I cut out from the template that I drew, the "breasticles" were cut using creative memories circle cutters, the nipples were made using the SU 1" and 1/2" punches, the same cardstock just coloured in using the copic flesh coloured pen. The circles are layered up in different sized circles with foam tape and edged in the same coloured copic pen to add definition. The I cut the bra using my template from shiny black cardstock to give it a PVC kind of feel and added the studs. The studs were from Creative Beadcraft and they just push through the card and you fold back the "legs", so easy. I added the nipples afterwards through the peephole studded bra, again using some foam tape and added a jumpring for the piercing. With some extra shading on the woman's body and the rub on tattoo's (from Stamp Attic) it makes this hardcore card complete. Happy Birthday Alan. xWednesday, 4 April 2012
At Last...
I can finally blog once more, it has been a while. The problem, should it happen to you is that the firewall was blocking the upload, my wonderful AJ managed to resolve this for me so I am free to blog once more. I can now share with you the Valentine card that I made for AJ(seems like ages ago now). It is an easel card with the sentiment "you had me at hello" which is from the film Jerry Maguire. An old school film I know, but the sentiment for me still has the same appeal in that when I met AJ, his voice, well, he did "have me at hello". So it seemed appropriate that I made this Valentines card for him. I have used the Tim Holtz film strip die cut as the basis to make the connection to the film and filled the "cells" with sentiments using rub ons. I cannot remember which company the hugs and kisses background paper is but it is lovely. All other card stock is from PayPer box. The hearts are cut using the primitive hearts from Sizzix, with ribbon, eyelets and black fronds(from Cargo) completes this card. To compliment this card my gift was the DVD Jerry Maguire which really did make it complete. You really must watch this film again, or for the first time if you have never seen it before. xMonday, 19 March 2012
Help!!
You may be wondering why I have not blogged lately? Well, I am unable to upload any photo's no matter how hard I follow the suggestions by eblogger for this. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have cleaned out all my cookies and temporary files, turned off my pop up blocker and anything else that has been suggested. I love blogging and sharing what I have created but also its a wonderful way to document what I have created for my personal reference. So, please, can someone help and let me find a way to upload photo's again....pretty please. x

Kira's boutique
What card can you make for a girlie girl that loves shopping, clothes, handbags, shoes? My instant reaction how about a shoe shop? I wanted to make something quite 3D that you could not buy anywhere else. I also wanted to use the classy colours of black, pink and white, it was only when "playing" that this card seemed to materialise form nowhere. The canopy of the shop was the basis of the card and the cardstock is the retired SU groom cardstock and I have cut the pink Bazill to fit in between each line. The lace to the canopy is cut from black paper using the lace SU punch. The white card is from Payper Box and again the base of the store front is from the retired SU Groom cardstock. To keep the canopy out at this angle I have made a black triangle all the way along underneath and glued this in position. The lower section is similar but it is in a hollow rectangular shape the same as the shoe stands. The signage is cut from the London alpabet from Go Kreate and the shoes from the Sizzix dies. With just some brads, eyelets and a gem this completes the card. Always bear in mind that when you do make something so 3D it would need a box made if you were posting it or a much larger envelope to fit the excess volume in. Happy Birthday Kira. x

Sam's Birthday..
Bet you thought I had forgotten about creating cards? Here is my Daughters Birthday card. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try something unusual for me. I usually struggle to incorporate patterned paper and lots of colour into my cards so I knew that I wanted to include that when I designed this card, plus, I had a lot of Magnolia Doohickey dies that I received for Christmas and wanted to use these too. In my head I wanted the floral arrangement to "pop up" so this easel card seemed like the right way to go. To make sure the colours all blended well I used the Basic Grey Eva pad, all the papers from the pad were used on this card with the following Magnolia Doohickey dies- Dolly flowers DH006, Scallop Tag DH022, Leaf Swirl, Vintage flowers & leaf DH016, Bon Voyage flowers DH007 and another flower die which does not have the name or code on(useful, not). With the addition of Kars bold aphabet 1 stamp set and some pins, ribbon, and gems and the card is complete. Just hope Sam likes it? Happy Birthday Sam. x
