Memory tray

I know it's been a while since I blogged, I am a naughty blogger!!  I just wanted to share this with you, a memory tray that I made for Jake's Christening.  I really enjoyed making this and wasn't too sure if Sam would like it, as luck would have it she does like it, so its all good :-) I sanded down the tray and painted it with acrylic white paint-several times. Then using the Rusty Pickle Boy Oh Boy paper pack I lined each insert with it.  I like making gifts that compliment the cards, you might have noticed that I have used the same papers and one photo the same?  The socks and scratch mitts were Jakes, he has already out grown them, my, he grows so fast.  The hand and foot prints were made by making the impressions with playdough and then filling these with a plaster mix and allowing them to dry.  Tricky to do when "Mum" is in the house at the time and trying to do this dicreetly without her knowledge.  Jake's name was cut out using Sizzix Roundtable die, his birthdate was cut using the London Die, the birth weight was cut using the Sizzix serif numbers. The clock face is a Tim Holtz one with watch hands from...??? With the addition of Rub ons (it's difficult to buy these now, I love having these in my stash) and Jake's photos the box is complete.  Keeping this a surprise pressie from Sam and Gavin was difficult but it was lovely to see their surprised faces at the Christening, and the "how did you manage to get his hands and feet done?".  Now my secret is out....xx
